Emidio Pepe began a crusade of uncompromised quality in 1964 and has eschewed the use of pesticides since day one. Working only with indigenous crops from the northern part of Abruzzo, the Pepe family has become famed beacons of natural agriculture across the world for over fifty years.
The Pepe family cultivate indigenous olive varietals native of Abruzzo: Frantoio and Leccino, and Tortiglione. The olive trees surround the vineyards and are manually harvested and cold-pressed in a nearby mill on the same day of the harvest maintain to their level of acidity and preserve the olives' exceptional quality. After a short time to decant, the extra virgin olive oil is bottled totally unfiltered leaving it faintly cloudy (the good stuff).
